Different Is Better

“We love the house and the neighborhood. We’re over-the-moon happy!”

That’s what I want to hear every time I help a client find their new home. In southern California, where real estate agents are as common as surfboards in Huntington Beach, I’d be honored to be your agent.

Who Am I?

Let me introduce myself. I’m Ron Hoefer and I’ve lived in So Cal my entire life. It’s here where I built one of the most successful insurance brokerages in Orange County. I did that by doing things a little differently. I believe that clients are the most important part of my business. I worked hard for them to create innovative solutions, and clients stayed with me for decades until they sold their businesses, and together we celebrated the biggest milestone of their lives.

And now, after passing the insurance torch to my son, I’ve opened a real estate business that also puts clients first and does things a little differently.

You May Be Wondering, What Does a Little Differently Mean?

Well, wonder no more. It means that I ask my clients a myriad of questions, not to be nosey, but to gain a better understanding of their home-buying needs, not just their price range. I also have a few home-buying tricks up my sleeve.

Doing a little detective work, I go undercover as a prospective home buyer and ask the neighbors how they like living here. Homeowners are more than happy to give open and honest answers. Here are a few that you never want to find out after you close escrow. I mean NEVER.

“You want to live here? Hope you like garage-band rock music.”

“Are you kidding? Across the street is an Airbnb and it’s a party house. And if I have a party, my guests can’t find a place to park.”

“The house is great, but the next-door neighbors are soooo noisy!”

“We hate it here. We love the house, but all the neighbors are snowbirds who are never here. This isn’t a neighborhood, it’s lonely and we feel isolated.”

What Do I Want to Hear?

“We love living here. It’s a great neighborhood. Quiet and everyone’s friendly.”

“This district has the greatest schools. And my kid’s friends all live on this street.”

“You’ll love it here. The neighbors are great and really helpful.”

What Else Makes Me a Little Different?

As a recent home buyer myself I was staying at my Palm Springs home when we were hit with heavy rains. I mean torrential. Hurricane force. Then I began getting phone calls from Orange County friends. They all asked, “Are you safe? Are you all right?”

“I’m perfectly safe,” I said. “I always run a flood map study on any home I’m considering buying.”

Sadly, some homeowners in Palm Springs didn’t do that, and they suffered severe flood damage. But by doing things a little differently, I don’t let that happen to my clients.

This introduction should give you a sense of the thoughtful and caring approach that both myself and my partner, Kara, will bring to you as we help you find the wonderful and vetted home of your dreams.
